20 Random Facts About ME

1. I've now run two 5Ks. And want to run even more! I was the kid in elementary pe class that couldn't even really run the mile without a stitch in my side and wanting to die. So this is awesome. 2. In August, I'll be teaching kindergarten. I always thought I wanted to teach third or fourth grade. But I've spent four of the last five years teaching first grade and now I'll be going even younger! 3. I'm certified to teach first through sixth grades and Special Ed k-12. So yesterday I took a praxis to hopefully get certified for the job I was hired. 4. I lived alone for four years but I've spent the last year living with three amazing people and I never want to live alone again. 5. I've worked for Walgreens off and on since high school. If it were continuous, I'd be celebrating my eighth year (three years off). 6. In September, I'm telling Walgreens goodbye. At least for now. 7. About a month ago, I started dating a guy I really like. He's out of town this week and I miss him. 8. I was a hockey cheerleader in high school. At times I'm embarrassed by this but I don't regret it. 9. In a few months, I'll be attending my ten year high school reunion. I've changed a lot since then.... 10. I owe most of that change to college and the people I met there. My experiences in Res Life really helped me figure out who I was. 11. One day when I get married my Grandpa Sam or my Uncle Richard will walk me down the aisle. 12. I never really thought of myself as a person who takes risks until I was asked Ina job interview how I'd rank myself as a risk taker. The interviewer didn't let me answer but instead said, "I guess we know that one.". And it made sense. I moved from Springfield to the lake and knew nobody. To live on my own for the first time. Then I left a great job and people I'd come to consider family to move to Columbia for church. Without finding a job first when the economy was tanked. Either I'm a risk taker or I'm crazy. 13. I love laffy taffy jokes! 14. Someday I'd like to travel. And bungee jump. 15. I spent the 2006 baseball season calling David Eckstein my future husband. He was the world series MVP that year. I spent the 2011 baseball season calling David Freese my future husband. He was the world series MVP that year. 16. In college, I went to New York for a conference and was able to spend a day as a tourist in NYC. Since then, I have wanted to go back to be able to spend more tha. Just a day and get to see everything for real. 17. I have a thing for cowboy boot wearing. Southern drawl speaking boys. And boys that can play musical instruments. 18. Banana is my favorite flavor Popsicle and my favorite laffy taffy flavor. 19. Heidi is my favorite book and I have a cabbage patch kid I named Heidi. 20. I have to work a ten hour Walgreens shift tomorrow.... Good night.
