130 Days

That's how many days we have been in school.... The countdown will commence soon.

Spring conferences are, for all intents and purposes, over. There are a few parents I will need to call since they failed to show up to meet in person but the most important ones were there. The ones who may need to be retained... And although the ugly R word was mentioned to two conferences, they both went well. And I can now breathe a huge sigh of relief. Decisions weren't made because anything can still happen in this last part of the year but at least they are aware that the possibility is there.

There are some kids from this year that I will miss dearly. But there are some that I will be happily waving goodbye to.

Life is good. I am happy. I am busy. And I think I am at my happiest when I am at my busiest! It doesn't hurt that there is a crush involved... boys make me happy. But that's all I am going to say about that for now. Other than that he makes me smile and I am enjoying our time getting to know each other.

This is one of the first years where I have felt that I truly have a support system here and my coworkers/friends mean the world to me. The conference some of us went to last week really helped strengthen and solidify some of our relationships. It makes work easier when you know where your coworker is coming from and know they have your back.

I wore a dress for conferences tonight that I haven't worn (one that I bought for Caysea's wedding)... and I got more compliments and comments on that one dress in the three hours I wore it than anything else I've worn all year. And damn, if it didn't make me feel great!

Yes, this has been a hard year. Yes, I have a rowdy group of kids that rarely listen. And yes, I am anxiously awaiting the end... BUT a lot of awesome things have happened this year and in an attempt at being positive, perhaps this year was a lesson or a way to strengthen me somehow. A gift and not a burden.

  1. It's great to hear you sound so happy!

Also, my senior year of high school, I started a countdown on our first day. Because I was that kid. :)
